When the Altenew Inspiration Challenge for this month came out, I sat down and colored this flower. I loved the effect I was able to get with it but, I was really stumped on how to take this card even further. That was until I got the Bed of Roses Stamp Set in the mail recently from a recent clearance sale! I thought of the My Favorite Things current sketch challenge and got to work!

I took light pink and lime green cardstock and clear embossed the garden roses with an ultra fine embossing powder. I then took Altenew Rouge Crisp Ink Dye to the pink paper and ink blended it on. Then, I repeated the process on the lime green cardstock with Frayed Leaf. I then used a die cut to cut strips out. I alternated them and glued them onto the card. I stamped take care on white, added a flair to the end, and added a layer behind it. To make the flower really stand out, I glued 4 layers to the back of it.

Pink & Green Floral Thanks

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! I hope all of you had a wonderful year. I was fortunate enough to spend lots of time crafting this year.

The making of this card:
I stamped the Altenew Thank You 2022 stamp set that I received as a surprise gift in the mail. This gift helped push me back to my coloring. So, thank you for that! I stamped the flower in black ink and then colored it with Altenew markers R437, R318, R403, R601, G702, G715. Then, I fussy cut the image. I used the grid like die cut in green. Then, I cut it down and made it into an accent strip. I decided to separate the 2 flowers. After I fussy cut those, I glued several strips of paper to the back of the flowers to give them dimensions.

I decided to stamp the sentiment, thanks, onto the same shade of green paper as the accent strip. I stamped it with a white pigment ink and actually had success! Hooray! I used a light pink cardstock and ink blended over it with the Rouge ink color. I cut this piece slightly larger than the green strip of paper and glued them together. I placed them towards the bottom of the card. And there you have it! My card to wrap up the year for the
