Hello again, when I sat down to make this card for my AECP Color Your Day course, I was inspired by the Altenew Inspiration Challenge and a birthday card challenge at Addicted to Stamping. I decided to use my Garden Roses as a background. I liked how this course recommended doing a color that matched as the outline rather than just black. I used Persian Blue. I find stamping with an acrylic block rather than my Misti is easier for these kinds of backgrounds.
I knew that I wanted to use die cut letters for happy but, when I put them on to see how it looked, the white background was too much. So, I decided to mask off the roses and apply Lime ink with my blending brush. Boy did that really bring those roses to life!
To finish things off, I glued the letters on and thought putting birthday on happy would be a fun touch!
Until next time,
Caitlin.
