Hi y’all! I’m back with a guest designer for my favorite challenge, Color Hues! I won their Chocolate and Mint challenge. So, I get to join them for this one! Brown and Yellow. I’ll be honest, I did struggle a bit with creating something unique for this challenge. I don’t really have much brown or yellow in my day-to-day life. After hours going into trying different versions, I came up with a CAS design. I would’ve saved a lot of time if I knew that in the beginning! Lol.

I haven’t touched my foil machine in quite some time. I decided to put it to use with some butterflies from Spellbinders. I found a copper foil in my stash and knew that it’s what I wanted to use with it. I feel like it’s brown tinted with a little bit of yellow. I colored in yellow in the wings with a detailing brush and yellow ink. To give it more depth with the brown, I used distress ink and pops of color. I sprayed the brown ink with a little bit of water and mixed it with the clear glitter pop. It allowed for the brown to have a little bit of dimension on the butterfly.

I wanted the butterfly to have more dimension. Therefore, I sprayed glimmer spray on a piece of brown construction paper and used an embossing mat to emboss the butterflies onto the paper. I then die cut it out which helped flatten it out. I stamped the thinking of you sentiment in yellow on a white cardstock. I glued the embossed brown paper butterfly to the right bottom corner facing the I turned the edges of the foiled and colored butterfly upward and glued the center of the butterfly down to the brown paper butterfly.

How would you do a brown and yellow card?? I’d love for you to join along in the challenge! Thanks for reading!
